Hugo

Last evening we took the kids to see Martin Scorsese’s film Hugo, based on the book by Brian Selznick. It was the single most enjoyable movie watching experience I’ve had in a very long time. My son tends to lose interest in movies about halfway through so I was skeptical about a two plus hour [...]

Remember

As a parent, you find yourself saying phrases like: Time flies. The kids grow up too fast. It goes by in a flash. The kids have gotten so big! Can you believe that was XX years ago? The sentiment behind each of these suggests it all happens so fast you’re going to miss something. The [...]

Ellie Bellie Kids ads

I shot and directed these advertisements for Baltimore-based toy company Ellie Bellie Kids. I also helped write the concept and story for both. They were a lot of fun to shoot, and done on a small business-sized budget. The result of each honestly represents the company.

Support Slip | A photography and film project

I’m pleased to announce my new project. Sweet Martita

During a recent trip to Mexico City, my colleague and I traveled to the outskirts of the city to make a film about one woman’s difficult daily commute in and out of the city limits. In the early morning hours we rose and began our own long journey from the comfort of our hotel and [...]

Swinging, Singing Swaminarayan

Sometimes when traveling, you tend to over plan your activities and experiences. The best experiences, are almost always those that came out of nowhere. This has happened to me time and again. A last minute trip to see Lucha Libre in Mexico City; a short walk around the corner from my hotel in Mumbai right [...]

Mumbai Peanut Vendor

Walking down the street in the Colaba district during my recent trip to Mumbai, we happened upon this peanut vendor and started shooting. We bought some peanuts of course. Enjoy this glimpse of life in Mumbai.

The Gateway of India

Recently, I returned from a two week trip to India where I visited the cities of Mumbai, Indore and Ahmedabad. I spent most of my time in Mumbai (or Bombay as the British call it—and quite a few Indians as well), and only two days each in Indore and Ahmedabad. The experience was intense. Never [...]

Cities In Focus for EMBARQ | New York City

Just released, is a short film I shot and directed in New York City on the many improvements taking place there over the last several years. Some terrific stuff is happening there including the introduction of over 200 miles of bike lanes, and pedestrianization of streets formerly mobbed with automobiles. Very good stuff. A highlight [...]

México City

I recently visited México City. I was there specifically to shoot video for three short films on urban mobility projects for EMBARQ and CTS México. There’s a lot of work left to be done in the city and the surrounding state, but projects like Métrobus and Eco Bici are big steps in the right direction [...]
